Macaronis

Macaronis, or affectionately known as 'Macas', is not just any wave—it is one of the most coveted and perfect left-handers on the planet. Widely known for being a 'mechanical' wave, Macas offers incredible consistency with its precise wave shape in every set. For surfers from all corners of the world, this wave is often considered the gold standard of surfing perfection.
When the off-shore winds blow and Indian Ocean swells reach the ideal 4–6 feet, Macas truly transforms into a relentless barrel machine. Imagine a fast yet smooth take-off, that instantly shoots you into a long, clean water tunnel (barrel). It is so perfect that this barrel section often connects from the take-off all the way to the inside.
The allure of Macas doesn't just stop at its barrel. After exiting the barrel, this wave offers a very long and open wave wall, providing incredibly wide and open space to execute sequences of sharp, high-class maneuvers.
One thing that makes Macas even more special is its consistency. Despite being recognized as a high-performance wave arena for professional surfers, this spot somehow remains very 'fun' and rippable even in light on-shore wind conditions. This wave works prime across various tides and handles a variety of swells coming from the west through to the south incredibly well.
The most epic conditions at Macas generally occur during mid to high tide. During these times, with the push of a solid swell, the face of the wave becomes extra hollow and round. This is the perfect stage for experienced surfers chasing and dreaming of the experience of getting inside one of the best barreling waves of their lives.
Mini Macas

As the name implies, Mini Macas is a more petite—but no less fierce—version of its older sibling, Macaronis. This spot is a left-hand reef break famous for its very fast, hollow character, demanding a high level of precision. While its size might be slightly smaller, its intensity cannot be underestimated.
When consistent south-west swells arrive and combine with the perfect rhythm of the ocean, Mini Macas awakens and presents an extraordinary natural spectacle. It's capable of producing long barrel tunnels with wave lines so neat, it looks like they were drawn with a ruler. This is an ideal playground for those who love fast-paced waves.
Given its location over a shallow coral reef cluster, timing is everything at Mini Macas. The most optimal and safest conditions to surf here are usually during the mid to high tide window. Sufficient incoming tide will provide an extra cushion, protecting you from reefs that are too shallow, while also keeping the barrel shape perfectly round and clean without backwash disruption.
One thing to remember: this spot is not a training arena for beginners. With incredibly fast drop take-offs and sections ahead that demand split-second decision-making, Mini Macas is highly recommended and reserved for surfers at an advanced level. For those who master its techniques, this wave promises a memorable, adrenaline-inducing speed.
Silabu Left

Silabu Left features a variety of playful peaks—ideal for intermediate surfers looking to increase their wave count and practice their maneuvers.
It works best at mid tide with light off-shore winds in the morning. On medium swells, this spot offers friendly and consistent long walls.
This area tends to be more versatile for a range of skill levels compared to the more technical spots nearby.
Macas Right

Macas Right is a highly consistent right-hand reef break. The face of the wave tends to stay open with occasional barreling sections.
The best swells usually approach from the south-west with off-shore winds in the early morning. Mid to high tides keep the wave's shape safer over the reef.
Ideal for intermediate to advanced surfers seeking a steady, well-groomed right-hander.
Fish Fingers

Fish Fingers is a highly consistent left-hand reef break. The face of the wave tends to stay open with occasional barreling sections.
The best swells usually approach from the south-west with off-shore winds in the early morning. Mid to high tides keep the wave's shape safer over the reef.
